Douvrin engine

The Douvrin family was an all-aluminum straight-4 automobile engine made in a joint-venture between Peugeot and Renault in the 1970s. It was produced in the same Douvrin factory as the PRV V6, which also is sometimes known as the "Douvrin".

The 2.0 L (1995 cc) was a 12-valve oversquare version, commonly used in the Renault 21. Bore was 88 mm (3.5 in) and stroke was 82 mm (3.2 in).

The 2.2 L (2165 cc) version was most common. It was an undersquare design with a timing belt. Bore was 88 mm (3.5 in) and stroke was 89 mm (3.5 in). This engine is often confused with the somewhat similar Simca Type 180, which displaced 2155 cc.
