Dubossary (Russian: Дубоссары, Moldovan/Romanian: Dubăsari) is a city in Transnistria, Moldova with a population of 28,500. Dubossary is the major city of Dubossary region. Its geographical location is [47°16′N 29°10′E]. The name of the town is derived either from Romanian, in which it means "boatmen", or from the Tatar Tembosary, which means "yellow hills."

Dubossary is the site of one of the oldest settlements in Moldova. Stone age artifacts have been found in the area, and there are several Scythian kurgans around the city.

Unlike other cities on the left bank of the Nistru (Dniester) River, Dubăsari along with Grigoriopol are cities with a Romanian population exeeding 50%, while Ukrainians and Russians represent large minorities.
