Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) is a company that was launched by the Dubai government in 2006. It is a consortum of 6 partners. Its objective is to develop new airports in the Asian markets.
Dr Mohammed Al Zarouni, is the Managing Director of DAE.
The six consortium partners are Emaar, Dnata, Mercator, Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), Amlak Finance and Dubai Airports Free Zone Authority (DAFZA). [link]
Each of the 6 companies brings a specialty to the consortium. Emaar will supervise and act as a general contractor. In addition they will provide construction and real estate experience. Amlak is slated to provide financing for projects, including equity finance and structured debt with favorable terms. Dnata is expected to act a rainmaker and to provide operational expertise with there experience in airport and cargo operations. Mercator will be responsible for developing the airport IT systems and processes. ENOC will provide expertise in the “fueling value chain”. Lastly, DAFZA will provide commercial experience in the fields of planning and operating aviation related businesses. [link]
