Ducati 999

The Ducati 999 is the replacement for the Ducati 916, Ducati 996 and the Ducati 998 range.
How do you replace an Icon? For Ducati, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer worshipped by racers and riders all over the world, the answer was - start from scratch! Ducati decided to produce a successor to its iconic 916/996/998 series, it allowed designer Pierre Terblanche to create a completely new bike built from the inside out. This approach resulted in a radically styled motorcycle whose improved ergonomics offer greater comfort and control, with more agile handing at all speeds.
Whilst it still lacked the outright power levels of the Japanese inline four-cylinder opposition, its excellent handling for all riders and vast torque figures more than made up for the deficiency.
Later, even more powerful 999S and 999R versions were introduced, the latter with capable of 0-62 mph in under 3 seconds and a top speed of over 170 mph, with a high pricetag to match such lofty performance standards.
