Eastern Airways

Eastern Airways (IATA: T3, ICAO: EZE, and Callsign: Eastflight) is a UK airline based at Humberside International Airport. It operates a network of scheduled domestic services and a private charter section. It has a hub at Aberdeen Airport from which it operates eleven routes, with crew bases at Leeds/Bradford and Newcastle airports.
History
The airline was established in 1997 and started operations in December 1997 with a scheduled service between Humberside and Aberdeen. In February 1999 it purchased Manchester based Air Kilroe. Routes and Jetstream 41 aircraft were transferred from British Airways CitiExpress from 30 March 2003. Eastern Airways operates some 750 scheduled flights each week and expects to carry approximately 500,000 passengers in 2005. It employs 373 staff.
In October 2004 the European Regions Airline Association awarded a silver medal for achievement to Eastern Airways for the second consecutive year. The gold medal went to Aegean Airlines and the bronze to Aer Arann.
From 24th April 2006 Eastern Airways will operate Cardiff to Aberdeen, Brussels and Newcastle following Air Wales' decision to cease scheduled flying from the 23rd April. Eastern will base a crew and 1 Jetsteam 41 at Cardiff to operate the routes.
