Papst (ebmpapst) is a maker of high-end fans and air technology, including for computer cooling purposes. Papst fans are renowned for longevity and smooth run, due to the use of individual balancing weights in the rotor assembly. Papst products thus command a premium price. The original IBM PC 5150 and XT 5160 computers were equipped with a Papst-fanned Power supply unit (Model: Multifan 4312M, 12V DC, 2.6 W).

Papst is actually the German word for Pope.
