Eco-action

Eco-action is an international environmental group founded in 1993 by Beth Hollenbeck with the stated aim of "facilitating positive lifestyle change through consumer education and community involvement in environmental issues". An all-volunteer, membership organization, ECO-Action claims it has "attempted to meet the needs of other environmental organizations and the community."
Eco-action's mission statement states:
- "The mission of ECO-Action, Inc., is to protect and preserve the natural environment by encouraging, creating, and supporting ecological education, responsible consumption, development of alternative energy sources, and public participation in addressing environmental issues.
- To meet this goal, ECO-Action makes the following commitments:
- To work with educational entities, both public and private, to raise awareness about environmental problems and solutions;
- To encourage volunteerism and participation in environmental initiatives;
- To facilitate positive changes in lifestyle through consumer education;
- To support efforts to utilize alternative energy sources;
- To support socially responsible enterprises operating in our community and state;
- To work with other environmental and social agencies on issues affecting the natural environment."
