Ecologic Foundation

The Ecologic Foundation is based in Nelson, New Zealand.
The Foundation has its origins in the 1975 Beech Forest Action Council, then the Native Forest Action Council, and the Maruia Society.
The group describes itself as a think tank and advertises themselves as ‘responsible’ environmentalists, but their market oriented policies are politically far to the right of the mainstream of environmental groups in New Zealand. Salmon was a candidate for the National Party at the 2002 elections, but has since opposed National Party environmental policies, including their stance on the Resource Management Act (RMA).
