Edison Carter

Edison Carter was one of the main characters in the science fiction television series Max Headroom. A hard-hitting reporter for Network 23, he sometimes came close to uncovering things that his superiors in the network would've preferred to keep private. Eventually, one of these instances required him to flee his workspace, and an accident in so doing caused him to become injured, upon which his brain was downloaded, giving birth to the character Max Headroom.

Edison was most likely based on real-life report Edward R. Murrow, whose journalistic integrity and ruthless drive to expose the truth were shared with the fictional Carter's.

During the series, we saw very little of the past Edison spoke of, though we did get to meet the female priest he once dated when his report put him at odds with the View Age Church which she now headed.

Edison cares about the people he works with, especially Theora Jones who looks upon him as a friend and big brother and Bryce Lynch who just might harbor a secret crush on Edison given how easily he agrees to help Edison when he all but ignores everyone else's requests.,
