Edmund McMillen is an artist and Flash designer famous for making impossible fictional creatures whose bodily structure and behaviour frequently reference death and sex. He produces fluid animation for both Flash movies and games, as well as illustrations and writing for on-line comics. Before making games, Edmund was an Animal Control Officer.
He began his entertainment career through comics, cartoons and Flash games based around his fictional universe "The Badlands". Popular games in this series included "Carious Weltling" (which has enjoyed a sequel), the platform game "Clubby The Seal", his most recent release "Viviparous Dumpling" and various dress-up titles, mostly in his Dead Baby canon.
His first major commercial breakthrough was Gish, a unique platforming game which won awards at the Independent Games Festival and paved the way for other Flash artists to get their games made into commercial products such as Tom Fulp and Dan Paladin's Alien Hominid (of Newgrounds fame) and Ryan Khatam's Johnny Rocketfingers.
He has two websites: Thisisacryforhelp.com, which is his main homepage and hosts much of his work (it also used to host the forums, which now operate under the name of Elsewhere Forums), and Diverge.ws, a site he and Caulder Bradford (A.K.A. Riftmaster) run together which documents their most recent work.
His next up-coming project is "Cereus Peashy", a game about a homicidal cactus who goes on a ritual killing spree.
