The Eelam People's Democratic Party is a political party in Sri Lanka. At the last legislative elections, 2 april 2004, the party won 0.3 % of the popular vote and 1 out of 225 seats. EPDP have had the coalition of present government and rival of LTTE.
Last parliament election LTTE and Tamil National Alliance campaigned against EPDP. Finally EPDP won one seat in Jaffna District and fail to win a single seat out of Jaffna.
It also accused of being a Para-military group by the LTTe and international observors. Recently it was accused of being involved in the masscre of 13 Tamil civilains along with the Sri Lankan Navy[link]
