Eisenhower jacket
Encyclopedia : E : EI : EIS : Eisenhower jacket
An Eisenhower jacket or "Ike" jacket is a type of military uniform blouse coat terminating in a waistband. Designed by General Dwight David Eisenhower in 1943, early versions of it were created from modified service coats. It may be a more convenient type of coat to wear when having to operate a vehicle and/or carry a sidearm, which made variations of it popular with civilian police agencies.
