Born: 1916 in Normal, Illinois, USA
Eleanor Coen is a lithographer and landscape painter of rural subjects with expressionist style. Both a student and teacher at the Art Institute of Chicago, Coen studied there with Boris Anisfeld and Max Kahn.
From 1939 to 1940, she participated in the Federal Art Project in Chicago and in 1942 won a travelling fellowship from the Art Institute to study at at the School of Fine Arts in San Miguel de Allende in Mexico.
