Leonor of Portugal (pron. IPA: /liu'noɾ/; English: Eleanor), was a Princess of Portugal, daughter of King Edward of Portugal and his wife Leonor of Aragon. Leonor was born in Torres Vedras on September 18 1434.
In 1451 she married Frederick III, Holy Roman Emperor and became Empress and her dowry helped him to alleviate his financial problems.

It is in Empress Leonor that the Portuguese line of
Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor resides.
Leonor died in Neustadt on September 3 1467, and is buried in the same city in the Monastery of the Order of Cister.
