Confusion with Dream Theater's Octavarium
LaBrie's solo album was often confused as Dream Theater's album Octavarium upon release. Due to the fact that many leaks and copies of the album surfaced near the release date of Octavarium. James' easily reocognizable voice made fans convinced that it was infact Dream Theater's new CD. Some radio stations even played some songs off of this album claiming it to be the new Dream Theater album. Despite the controversy, Dream Theater mostly ignored these claims and went on to release Octavarium anyway. Some download sites still have the "Octavarium" copy. Octavarium has 8 songs on it, yet LaBrie's solo album has 12. Despite the difference in track length the downloadable album only has 8 tracks, not 12. This has caused a guess that it was planned to release a phony as a phony.
