Elena Kuschnerova is a Russian pianist.
Elena Kuschnerova was born and raised in Moscow and she is currently living in Germany. She was born into a musical family, and started playing the piano aged five. Elena made her first performance with orchestra at the age of nine and recorded Bach's Keyboard Concerto in F minor for Radio Moscow with the conductor Emin Khachaturian.
Harold Schonberg, the former chief music critic of New York Times, wrote about Kuschnerova's Scriabin CD in the American Record Guide: "These are the best recorded performances I am familiar with".
Elena Kuschnerova is the only performing artist affiliated with the great and controversial Russian composer Alexander Lazarevich Lokshin who wrote a variation cycle for her.
