Emperor Go-Reizei (後冷泉天皇 Go-Reizei Tennō) (August 28, 1025 – May 22, 1068) was the 70th imperial ruler of Japan, according to the traditional order of succession. He ruled from 1045 to 1068. His name was Chikahito (親仁).
Genealogy
He was the eldest son of Emperor Go-Suzaku. His mother was Fujiwara no Kishi (藤原嬉子), daughter of Fujiwara no Michinaga. He had no surviving children.Life
Because he had no children, after his death, his half-brother succeeded as Emperor Go-Sanjō, despite the fact that the latter's mother was not of Fujiwara descent.Consorts and Empresses
