Empire Comfort

Empire Comfort was a convoy rescue ship originally laid down as HMS York Castle, pennant number K537, a Castle-class corvette, but was renamed and converted before completion.
She was launched at Ferguson Brothers Ltd. shipyard in Glasgow on 20 September 1944, brought into service in 1945 and scrapped in June 1955 at Ghent. She was owned by the Ministry of War Transport and operated by Ellerman City Line.
York Castle is in York, England.
