Engineering Technician is a professional qualification (not an academic degree) offered by professional associations that are members of the Engineering Council UK. Engineering Technicians are technicians involved in the application of proven procedures and techniques to the solution of engineering problems.

Gaining the Engineering Technician qualification means proving competency against a list of core competences covered by UK-SPEC.

Persons who gain the Engineering Technician qualification use the postnominal letters EngTech.
