Equalizing

Equalizing - some action that makes all things equal - equalizer.

Equalizing (Computer Networking) A type of bandwidth shaping which makes adjustments to flow by adding latency to low-priority tasks so high-priority tasks receive sufficient bandwidth. Net Equalizer - an appliance that can added to a system that uses this technique to shape bandwidth. See also "bandwidth shaping" or "bandwidth control."

Equalizing (Audio) - Tone control for treble and bass, especially bass, divides signal into specific frequencies that can be preset or individually boosted or dimenished to taste. Audio Equalizer - a device that offers these controls, often built into stereo systems, but also a piece of equipment that can be added to a system. See also "dynamic control."
