Journey's seventh album, Escape, was released in August of 1981. With three hit singles, Escape became Journey's biggest album yet, and remains one of their most popular and best-reviewed works-to-date.
The spelling of Escape as E5C4P3 on the cover art is similar to, but would seem to predate, l33t spelling.
Certified 9x Platinum by RIAA* (11/14/94; only Greatest Hits, at 14x, has sold more copies).
