Estonia sent 28 athletes to the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy[Yahoo! Sports - Athletes - Estonia]. Half of these competed in cross-country skiing, where Estonia has won all of their three Winter Olympic medals[NBC Olympics - Country Detail - Estonia]. Eveli Saue, a biathlete, served as flag bearer at the Opening Ceremonies.
