Eternal Doctrine

In the Star Control computer game series, the Eternal Doctrine is the belief by the Ur-Quan Kohr-Ah that the only way to remain safe, as a race, is to wipe out, to "cleanse", the galaxy of all non-Ur-Quan sentient life.

They would likely have succeeded, as well, if Star Control II did not include Captain Zelnick, the protagonist of the game, who destroyed the Sa-Matra, the massive Precursor battle platform, which the Kohr-Ah gained in the Second Doctrinal Conflict, during Star Control II.
