History
The airline was established on 12 June 1991 and was the first Cyprus based charter airline. Operations began on 25 March 1992 with two brand new Airbus A320 aircraft and two more were added later. Since 2001 it has also operated scheduled services from Cyprus, as well as charter flights. In 2003 Eurocypria replaced its Airbus fleet with four brand new Boeing 737-800 aircraft. An Airbus A320 was sold to Cyprus Airways. A poor financial situation at its owner, Cyprus Airways, and the fact it is one of the few ventures of Cyprus Airways to make a profit, means that the government of the Republic of Cyprus is planning on buying the airline as a contingency plan to operate it as the country's flag carrier.
Services
As well as chartered services, Eurocypria also operates scheduled services as follows (at February 2005):
- Larnaca to Berlin-Schönefeld, Düsseldorf, Hanover, Heraklion, Leipzig, London Gatwick, Munich, Newcastle, Nuremburg and Stuttgart
- Paphos to Dublin
Fleet
The Eurocypria Airlines fleet consists of 4 Boeing 737-800 aircraft (at October 2005).
