Euxton

Euxton is a village in Lancashire, England.
It is situated just to the south of Leyland, and to the west of Chorley. There is a BAE munitions factory nearby. In 1997, Euxton Balshaw Lane railway station was re-opened after a gap of some 30 years. A second station to serve Buckshaw Village is planned.
English Premier League Football team Bolton Wanderers FC has its training headquarters based in Euxton.
There was a large Royal Ordnance Factory (ROF Chorley) built here during World War II. At its peak it employed over 40,000 people. It was the biggest munitions filling factory in the world. It is said that the bouncing bombs used in the Dambusters Raid were made at ROF Chorley.
Euxton is in Chorley Borough Council's area. Also home to Euxton Villa FC and Euxton Cricket Club.
