The Evening and Morning Star was an early Latter Day Saint periodical published monthly in Independence, Missouri from June 1832 to July 1833, and then in Kirtland, Ohio from December 1833 to September 1834.

Printing in Independence, Missouri
The Evening and Morning Star was the first Latter Day Saint periodical. It was initially published in a printing office operated by William W. Phelps in Independence, Missouri, until the office was destroyed by a mob on 20 July 1833. The mob also destroyed numerous uncompleted copies of the Book of Commandments.Printing resumed in Kirtland, Ohio
After the Latter Day Saints were expelled from Missouri in late 1833, the publication was printed in Kirtland, Ohio in a shop owned by Frederick G. Williams. The editor in Kirtland was Oliver Cowdery. The publication was eventually succeeded by the Messenger and Advocate.External reference
