On January 18, 1996, Executive Order 12986 [Executive Order 12986--International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources on epa.gov] was signed by President Bill Clinton. It deals with International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources and the World Conservation Union and legal protections offered by the International Organizations Immunities Act [link].

It is referenced in the documentary America Destroyed By Design America Destroyed By Design [end of 26th minute]. Critics argue it misinterprets the order ^{[[Citing sources citation needed]]}.
