Exeter International Airport is an international airport in the county of Devon, England. It is wholly owned and operated by Devon County Council, although a majority holding in the airport is currently for sale in order to fund greater expansion, which will include a new terminal. The Airport was constructed in 1937 at a cost of about £20,000. During WWII it was home to the Polish Airforce flying Hurricane aircraft in the defence of the Southwest from German aerial attack.

The runway is 08/26, and although there are two smaller runways, they are now disused.

Airlines and Services

The main airline using the Airport is the low-fares airline Flybe, who are based at Exeter. Flybe also have two maintenance hangars built in 2005 and 2006, which are equipped to service Bombadier Q400 and BAe 146 aircraft, from which most of Flybe's fleet consists.

Other airlines with services to Exeter are Skybus and Air Transat as well as various summer and winter charters, such as First Choice Airways, Spanair and Air Europa. Scheduled services are usually operated with Q400 (Dash 8), BAe 146, Boeing 737 and Twin Otter aircraft.
