F. O. C. Darley

Felix Octavius Carr Darley (b: 1821 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania -- d: 1888 in Claymont, Delaware) was an American illustrator, known for his illustrations in works by well-known 19th century authors, including:
- James Fenimore Cooper,
- Charles Dickens,
- Nathaniel Hawthorne
- Washington Irving
- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow,
- Clement Clarke Moore, and
- Edgar Allan Poe.
His Victorian mansion is located in Claymont, Delaware. The Darley House was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
