FK Teplice

FK Teplice is a Czech football club based in city of Teplice (80 km north of Prague). The club was founded after the World War II in 1945. The club advanced to the 1st Czechoslovakian division in just 3 years after being founded and played mostly in the 1st and 2nd Czechoslovakian division and after split of Czechoslovakia in the 1st and 2nd Czech division. After the Velvet Revolution and comeback of rich sponsor, Glaverbel (formerly Sklo Union), the club returned to the 1st division in 1996 and had a big success winning the Czech Football Cup and beating Feyenoord Rotterdam, 1. FC Kaiserslautern, and Glasgow Celtic in the UEFA Cup.
Contemporary situation
In 2004/05 season the team ended 3rd, with the same number of points as 2nd Slavia Prague. The 3rd place allowed to play the 3rd round of the UEFA Cup qualification, which Teplice won against FC MTZ-RIPO Minsk from Belarus. In the 1st round of the UEFA Cup Teplice faced RCD Espanyol from Spain. They got eliminated after playing 1:1 in the first leg and 0:2 in the second leg. FK Teplice is considered to be one of the best Czech football clubs, in the 2005/06 season it ended on the 4th place of Czech Premier league - the Gambrinus liga.Team 2005
