Falak is the omnipotent serpent that lives under the Realm of Fire in the legend of Bahamut. It is said that this serpent is so great that, were it not for fear of Allah, it would swallow all creation.
The dragon's description in most mythological traditions state that although Falak is a mighty, powerful serpent capable of destroying the entire universe, his power, although tremendous, is as nothing as compared to the power of Allah (God). The dragon itself is aware of this and fears Allah's retribution, which is why its trememdous power is stayed. It has sometimes been described as omnipotent, which implies limitless power. However, the use of the word "omnipotent" is actually an exaggeration used to describe the dragon in comparison with humans and other mythological creatures.
See Bahamut for more information on the serpent's role in mythology.
