Faroese people
Encyclopedia : F : FA : FAR : Faroese people
The Faroese or Faroe Islanders (Føroyingar) are a small ethnic group in Northern Europe of Norse and Celtic origin. They are mostly found in the Faroe Islands, Denmark and Norway.
The Faroese language is a west nordic language and is therefore closer related to especially Icelandic, but also the smaller northern variant of Norwegian, than it is related to east nordic languages such as Danish and Swedish.
