Felix Nussbaum

Felix Nussbaum (December 11,1904 in Osnabrück, Germany – 1944, Oświęcim (Auschwitz), Poland) was a Jewish German painter. Nussbaum was the son of Philip Nussbaum and his wife Rachel, and was born in Osnabrueck, Germany. He studied painting in Hamburg, Berlin and Rome.
In 1940, he was arrested by the Nazis and sent to the camps of Saint Cyprien and Gurs in southern France. In 1944 he was sent to Auschwitz, where he perished.
