Ferrengi BattleCruiser
Encyclopedia : F : FE : FER : Ferrengi BattleCruiser
Constellation or StarMaster in the fictional TradeWars 2002 universe. Its combat odds are slightly lower, though, making it an inferior ship. Like other Ferrengi ships, it cannot be bought, but can only be acquired by attacking and capturing a Ferrengi vessel.
Unlike most ships, which show up as "40" in a Density Scan, a Battle Cruiser has a density of 100. This can pose an additional problem for weaker ships because ports also have a density of 100, and can be deadly if a ship enters a sector expecting to find a port and instead comes up against a Battle Cruiser, which unlike an Assault Trader, doesn't even bother trying to rob the ship but attacks immediately. Of course, if the Battle Cruiser is in a sector with a port, its presence can be detected because then the sector will have a density of 200. Also, sectors that show a density of 100 but which are known not to contain ports could be avoided.
With full holds, this ship has a resale value of 111,645; with half holds, its resale value is 70,639.
