Fiat Nuova 500
Encyclopedia : F : FI : FIA : Fiat Nuova 500
A new Fiat 500 was announced by the Italian manufacturer Fiat on March 5th 2006[link]. It will be released in July 2007 (or exactly 500 days after the announcement) and will be built in Tychy, Poland, alongside the other city car in the Fiat range, the Panda.
Spyshots show that it will be strikingly similar to the concept car Trepiùno, presented in 2004. Strictly a 4-seater, 3-door and around 20 cm shorter than the Panda (3.35m vs. 3.55m), it is intended to compete in two segments: the "fashion car" niche (like the BMW MINI, Audi A2, Peugeot 206 CC and Nissan Micra C+C); and the "world car" segment. In the latter case, tha 500 will be inexpensive because of its size, not because of low-cost measures (as done for the Dacia Logan and Fiat Palio).
