The Fichtelbergbahn narrow gauge railway goes from the standard gauge international line at Cranzahl to the ski resort of Oberwiesethal. The line has some good mountain views and affords several famous opportunities for photography of the steam locomotives such as the wooden viaduct at the approach to Oberwiesethal. The mainline at Cranzahl has had an interrupted service due to the poor quality of the track but the service is an international line from Germany to the Czech republic and is scheduled for restoration soon (now 2006).
