Filmsite.org is a web site operated by Tim Dirks since 1996. It contains about 300 in-depth reviews of what Dirks judges to be the "greatest films" of all time. In many cases, the review is scene-by-scene. It also contains many other pages that amount to an online course in "Introduction to Cinema Literacy 101". Filmsite.org has some of the best, most comprehensive reviews on the web and it is free (limited advertising, no "premium" service for a fee). Roger Ebert endorses the site, apparently on its merits alone.
