Final Cut is an episode of the reimagined Battlestar Galactica televison series.
Plot
Survivor Count: 47,853
To help relieve tension between the military and civilian personnel of the fleet, Commander Adama gives a civilian reporter, D'Anna Biers, unrestricted access to document life aboard the Galactica.
During her investigation, Biers uncovers a death threat against Colonel Tigh by a disgruntled Lt. Palladino (as revenge for his part in a disastrous raid on the Gideon supply ship), and also discovers that Adama is holding a pregnant Cylon (Caprica-Boomer) in the brig after following the Viper pilot, Louanne "Kat" Katraine, to sickbay for overdosing on stims. Meanwhile, Boomer is rushed to medical after she has vaginal bleeding and Dr. Cottle stuggles to save her baby.
Her time aboard Galactica causes Biers to rethink her previous anti-military stance, and she ends up producing a flattering potrayal of the men and women of Galactica. This is however, all a sham; Biers is revealed to be another Cylon agent. She shows her documentary to the other humanoid Cylons (possibly in a theatre on Caprica).
Number Six is impressed by the humans' resiliance, and a copy of Boomer questions the fate of the baby. Biers states the baby was saved, where a copy of Aaron Doral (Number Five) states the baby is a miracle that must be protected at all costs.
Oddities
In Resistance, the Galactica version of Boomer tells Baltar that there are still eight human model Cylons remaining in the fleet. However, this would appear to be untrue as the survivor count given in the opening credits of this episode is 47,853, which matches the total seen on the Colonial One white board. If there were indeed eight remaining Cylons in the fleet the total on Colonial One would be 47,861 (as Cylons do not count in the opening credits but would on the white board because no one would know the difference). Moreover, even if there are not eight Cylons, the count should be 47,854 (to include D'Anna Biers who is a Cylon ). The presence of Biers does indicate that there are still Cylons in the fleet who should count on the Colonial One total but not in the credits. This suggests that someone involved with the show has erred.See also
