is a video game for the PlayStation 3 which, alongside Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII, makes up part of the compilation  [link]. Unveiled at E³ 2006, the game is "not merely a sequel, but a wholly independent story unfolding in a different world with different characters."  The game will be developed by the team responsible for the hit Kingdom Hearts series. Tetsuya Nomura will be the director.  [link]

It has been stated this game will be action-oriented. IGN have speculated this game could be out in 2008.#redirect Unlike for Final Fantasy XIII, Square-Enix has not publicly released a trailer for this game.

"Versus", in Latin is a word that roughly means, "to change direction".

Characters

The protagonist, a mysterious young man with dark blue hair and crimson eyes. The last heir to a dynasty ruling the only remaining city in the world to control crystals, he protects his home from marauders that would conquer the city and take the crystals as their own. He wields a number of different weapons, including swords, spears, and lances, and can even control their movements in the air to form a whirling barrier around himself.

Mysterious soldiers. These unknown warriors wear armor that has a medieval design, but also carry assault rifles resembling modern automatic weapons. They appear to be one of the outside forces attempting to invade the city and steal the crystals, but even that remains unclear.
