A finishing move is a dedicated special attack used to knock out an enemy on the brink of defeat in a flashy and spectacular manner. In video games finishing moves are most common in versus fighting games, though a number of beat 'em ups and other action games feature finishing moves as well. The term is also used in quasi-real events such as professional wrestling.

Finishing moves in video games often involve the violent and gory death of the enemy it is performed upon. The most (in)famous examples of these types of finishing moves are the "Fatalities" of the Mortal Kombat franchise, which involve attacks ranging from decapitation of a defeated opponent to even eating them whole and spitting out the bones. Some installments of the series are also notable for including non-violent finishing moves such as "Friendships", in which the defeated character is not killed but instead is given a present or other gesture of goodwill.

Other games featuring finishing moves include Killer Instinct, God of War, BloodRayne, Eternal Champions, ', and '.
