Fiona Volpe, played by Luciana Paluzzi, is a secondary villainess in the James Bond film Thunderball. A deadly assassin in SPECTRE's execution branch, she becomes NATO pilot Major Francois Derval’s mistress in the operation to steal the Vulcan and its precious cargo of two nuclear missiles, which SPECTRE plans to use for a blackmail operation.
She organises Derval’s murder and similarly kills Count Lippe after his numerous attempts to kill Bond fail. After encountering Volpe, Bond becomes the assassin's next target. After seducing Bond, she later reveals her true identity, something Bond already knew (He had simply been playing along in an attempt to get her onto his side), and attempts to escort him to Emilio Largo. Bond manages to escape her custody during the local Junkanoo. She catches up with him at the Kiss Kiss Club where they dance. There, Volpe is shot in the back with a bullet meant for Bond; he saw the gunman take aim and spun her around as soon as the man fired. He then left her in a nearby seat, saying to a nearby couple "Mind if my friend sits this one out? She's just dead." What happened to her body is unknown.
