Fitrah
Encyclopedia : F : FI : FIT : Fitrah
In Islamic context, Fitrah (فطرة) is humanity's innate disposition towards virtue, knowledge, and beauty. Muslims believe every child is born with fitrah, including those in non-Muslim communities, and that without external influence, these children would come to worship Allah on their own.
Other than belief in Allah, fitrah has physical characteristics: circumcision (preferably when one is seven days old), shaving one's pubic hairs, plucking one's armpit hairs, trimming one's facial hair so that it does not cover the mouth and clipping one's nails.
