Fleet Week is a United States Navy, United States Marine Corps and United States Coast Guard tradition in which active military ships recently deployed in overseas operations dock in a variety of major cities for one week. Once the ships dock, the crew can enter the city and visit its tourist attractions. At certain hours, the public can take a guided tour of the ships. Often, Fleet Week is accompanied by military demonstrations and airshows such as the Blue Angels.

The most well-known Fleet Week is in New York City and takes place consecutively every year since 1984 during the last week of May. The ships are docked at Pier 88 in Manhattan and the Stapleton Pier in Staten Island. Other unofficial Fleet Week Cities include San Diego and San Francisco.

2006 Fleet Week

2006 Fleet Week took place in New York City from May 24-31, 2006. Sailors, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen as well as US Navy, US Coast Guard, and Royal Navy ships participated. Sailors and Marines participated in Memorial parades in all five boroughs as well as volunteering in local communities. Visiting ships included:
