"Foldover frequency" is a Digital Signal Processing term describing a signal component above the Nyquist frequency, or half the sampling frequency. When these frequencies are modulated against the sampling signal, they "fold over" into the same space as (and become indistinguishable from) the baseband signal in an effect known as aliasing.

The term may also refer to the Nyquist frequency itself.
