Fonds commun de placement

Encyclopedia : F : FO : FON : Fonds commun de placement

The name translates to "Pooled funds", and are similar to open-ended mutual funds in the United States.

Commonly referred to as FCP or F.C.P., these financial instruments are unit trusts that are the similar to the Sicav; both exist alongside one another. They aren't investment companies; they're more like open partnerships. They invest in different financial instruments, but they do not have the tax status of the SICAV.

They are typically issued in the French-speaking countries of Europe.
