The Food and Drink Federation (FDF) is an organisation that represents and advises the UK food and drink manufacturers. The council is responsible for communicating to and from a range of audiences including the UK government (particularly the Department of Health), regulators and consumers.
In September 2004 they released the Manifesto for Food and Health, a seven-part pledge aimed at reducing the consumption of fat, sugar and salt. Some confectionery manufacturers announced that they would remove king-size versions of their chocolate bars in an effort to adhere to the pledges.
