Forbidden (album)

Forbidden was the 1995 effort from Black Sabbath. It is also the band's most recent studio album (as of June 4, 2006). It was generally panned by fans and critics alike at the time of its release. Band members have stated that the album was only made in order to fulfill contractual obligations with label I.R.S. Records, and this has been used as an excuse for what many consider to be poor musical quality.
Opening track "The Illusion of Power" is the most experimental track on the album, featuring rapper Ice T of the band Body Count on one verse. This is the only time a guest vocalist has been used on a Sabbath album. Body Count band member Ernie-C also produced the album, which fueled a backlash from longtime fans.
Despite persistent rumours, the track "Guilty As Hell" is not about O.J. Simpson (who was controversially acquitted of murder charges a year prior).
Shortly following the largely unsuccessful tour to support this album, singer Tony Martin was given his walking papers for the second time and the original lineup of Black Sabbath enjoyed a well-publicized reunion.
