- The song Hook shares the same harmonic structure as Johann Pachelbel's Canon in D. The song's title refers to the word hook in music terminology (the catchy element or phrase of a song which makes it distinctive). The song's lyrics bluntly assert that whatever the singer sings about is effectively meaningless, since the song's hook—the evocative and universally–recognizable harmonic structure of the Canon in D—will keep listeners coming back, even if they are unaware of the reason.
- Slide guitar solos on the song "The Mountains Win Again" are performed by Warren Haynes of The Allman Brothers.
- "The Mountains Win Again" has recently been used in advertisements for Coors Light beer.
