The band consists of musicians from established metal bands including members of Stuck Mojo. Jericho originally fronted the band under the persona of "Mongoose McQueen", but in 2004, he dropped the persona and now uses his more-recognized stage name. Their first two albums included mostly cover songs. Their third album includes all original songs, however, a few of the songs were recorded by Rich Ward's old side-project Sick Speed. Their song "Enemy" was the official theme song of WWE's No Way Out pay-per-view event in February 2005.
The History of Fozzy
Fozzy is now an internationally famous band, touring many parts of the World including Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.
Rich Ward was truly the man to bring it together, but if it were not for the contributions of the other members, Fozzy would not be what it is. People see Chris Jericho as the carrier of the band, due to his fame elsewhere (WWE (Formerly WWF), WCW and ECW).
The band did not want to be a normal Cover/Tribute band. Instead, they tried something very original. They decided to play as if many of the songs they covered were really their songs that, according to the pre-album story in interviews[link], were stolen due to a bad record deal. When they began work on their second album, they decided to drop the storyline to focus on becoming a true rock band.
The original name for the band was Big City Knights. That was soon changed, and the possibilities led on to Fozzy Osbourne (a play on Ozzy Osbourne), but Osbourne was dropped and thus Fozzy was born.
