Frank Iero

Frank Anthony Iero (pronounced "eye-ear-oh") (born October 31, 1981) is the rhythm guitarist and back up vocalist for the alternative rock/pop-punk band My Chemical Romance. Iero also has his own clothing line/music label/publishing company called Skeleton Crew.
Biography
Before My Chemical Romance
Iero grew up in Belleville, New Jersey along with many of the other members of his current band, My Chemical Romance. He had been playing in numerous other bands since he was eleven years old. In addition to his band Pencey Prep, Iero played with the bands Hybrid, Sector 12, I Am a Graveyard, and briefly with American Nightmare (now known as Give up the ghost).[#endnote_fairmont] He was bullied throughout high school and went to Rutgers University on a scholarship, but eventually dropped out to join My Chemical Romance. He was recruited to fill out the band's sound when his band, in which he was vocalist for, Pencey Prep, broke up.[#endnote_spin]Music
He is very passionate about music, and has been playing in bands since the age of 11. His father, his grandfather, and great uncle are a major influence on his music career. Iero uses an Epiphone Elitist Les Paul Custom guitar with an Alpine White finish. One of his many guitars sports the name Pansy which is also a nickname of his, although recently, Pansy was broken by an MTV guitar tech. Iero has named many of his guitars; some of these names include "Texas", "Bela", "Sinatra", "Pansy", "Angel", "New" and "Jersey". He has been seen playing Angel on several TV appearances and the guitar makes a cameo on Life on the Murder Scene. He admires Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, and learned to play the guitar by imitating him. His favorite bands include The Bouncing Souls, American Nightmare (now known as Give up the ghost), and Black Flag.Prone to Injury
Iero suffered from Epstein-Barr virus and battled bronchitis throughout his childhood.[#endnote_altpress] He has suffered from a case of mono and has had numerous lacerations to his head, hands, and knees. He claims he gets hurt every show. The worst was when he broke his toes.

- He has the word "HALLOWEEN" tattooed on his fingers. On the second "E", the middle stroke is left out for his engagement ring to replace that missing stroke. He also got a double "L" of one of his fingers, so the letters fit. His other tattoos include a Jack-o-lantern on his back, "Keep the Faith" on his upper back, the letters "N.J." inside his lip standing for New Jersey, "I wish I were a ghost" around his right wrist, "Our Lady Of Sorrows" on his left forearm, a dove on his left lower chest, "Jamia" on the left side of his chest, an anchor on the lower part of his right bicep with an "N" and "J" on either side, a scorpion on the right side of his neck,the words "Search and Destroy" on his lower back with guns on each side and much more.

- He has his lip and nose pierced, as well as gauged earlobes.
- He is the youngest member of My Chemical Romance.
- His natural hair color is dark brown, which he now dyes black.
- He used to be roommates with band member, Mikey Way.
- He is a vegetarian.
- Since he was born on October 31, 1981, he is under the Scorpio Horoscope.
- His favourite movie is Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas.
